Pumpkin Spice & Everything Nice: 2 Warming Drinks to Boost your Immune System | Oxford Healthspan

Christmas is calling and winter is officially here - time for pumpkin spiced lattes and warming, immune boosting drinks a many! 

Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Ingredients:

Serves 1-2

¼ cup pumpkin puree, canned or homemade

2 cups unsweetened almond milk or oat milk

2 Tablespoons honey or maple syrup

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp cardamon

Method:

Combine the pumpkin puree, milk, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon and cardamon in a blender.  Blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture into a small pot and heat until warm on medium high heat.

Sprinkle with more cinnamon before serving. 

Hot Apple Cider

Ingredients:

1 cup unsweetened apple juice

1 cinnamon stick

2 orange slices

3 whole cloves

dash of ground cardamom and nutmeg

Method:

Serves 1

Put the apple juice in a medium sized saucepan and bring to a simmer.  Add the cinnamon stick. 

Press the cloves into the orange slices and add to the pot, together with the cardamom and nutmeg. 

Simmer for 20 minutes, then remove the oranges from the pot. 

Serve immediately.

You can double or triple this recipe, depending on how many cups you would like to serve.
